Rejected petition Ban the use and production of non recyclable plastic products

Businesses are some of the largest users and producers of unnecessary plastic waste, most notably, non recyclable plastic. The government should ban this to force them to find alternative packaging systems and to help consumers have the ability to recycle more easily than what is currently available

Britain generated 2.26 million tonnes of plastic packaging waste in 2015, according to the latest available Government figures
Much of the plastic which packages products are non recyclable and are unnecessary. E.g single use plastic lids
