Energy drinks are addictive due to the high amounts of caffeine and sugar. They affect cortisol levels, mood, and cognition. Energy drinks can increase depression due to the sugar crash, affect motivation and lead to anxiety due to high levels of sugar. It is known they cause organ problems too!
It is a fact that energy drinks are not safe to consume in excess or during pregnancy/breastfeeding - there are reasons for this! Energy drinks have been known to cause heart problems, diabetes, liver problems, and kidney problems. Please see the links below and support this!
