Why are we still expecting patients suffering from mental health to pay for what can sometimes be life saving medications. Approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year and Over 6500 deaths each year are associated with poor mental health.

In 2009 there was an initiative where by patients undergoing treatment for cancer we’re not charged for the vital, often life saving medication deserve, and rightfully so!

I firmly believe that the government and NHS Business Services need a long overdue review of the way in which we address mental health medications and the associated costs.
