Planning appeals to be heard by a tribunal consisting of an elected member, a planning professional and a legally-qualified chairman and that any appeal must be on planning grounds only, not spurious interpretation of national targets.
What is the point of planning committees, or indeed a planning dept. when an unelected official can overturn democratic decisions made in the interests of the public as a whole rather than those of a few vested interests. . Who scrutinises the planning inspectors and what are their qualifications for the job?
