More details
On the 18th January 2012, Wikipedia's English language pages were blacked out in protest to the "Stop Online Piracy Act" and the "Protection of Intellectual Property Act". Given that this may be the first in a series of similar actions, we, the undersigned call on the government to explain to the US government that the continuation of these bills, and the website blackouts that may occur as a consequence, restrict access to resources that are utilized necessarily by people in the United Kingdom. We therefore ask that the consequences of legislating for these acts be explained be explained to the United States Government, in light of the global impact that they have already had.
