Closed Remove the Payment of VAT on Fuel Duty

I feel strongly about the fact that the UK government is forcing us to pay a tax on one of their taxes, it's double indemnity.....

Why should we pay VAT on Fuel duty, Fuel duty is a tax is it not, it is a duty on fuel that we buy, why then is VAT (another tax) then applied to the cost of purchasing fuel?

I'm raising this petition in the hope that we can gather enough signatures to make the government think about this, I would actually question as to whether it is legal??

Please remove the VAT applied to fuel duty, why should UK residents/visitors have to pay a tax on a tax????
