Petition Make polling day for a General Election a Bank Holiday.

The retired demographic have an unfair advantage on polling day, they have no work commitments or time constraints so are more likely to vote than those who work. Many votes are lost because people couldn't find time during their busy working day, or were too tired at the end of the day to vote.

More details

By creating a Bank Holiday every General Election polling day we will encourage a higher turnout, and create a more level playing field among the age groups with everyone having the the same opportunities to vote without worry of work commitments or being too tired to vote at the end of a busy day.
