Petition Re-Establish the UK Film Council
More details
In 2010 the UK Film Council, an organisation that employs only 72 permanent staff, but supplies jobs, either directly or indirectly for 100,000+ people, has an annual turnover of £6.8bn, £1.2bn of which goes to the treasury and makes back £5 for every £1 of state funding put into it, and is key to the success of the UK Film industry, allowing it to compete internationally was closed for being too expensive and in-efficient to run.
The Government should re-consider it's needless destruction of this well needed and respected institution and reopen the UK Film Council with immediate effect.
