Closed petition Jury Service - Paid leave of absence from employment

Closed on

Under the current legislation, employers are obliged to release employees on unpaid leave of absence, whilst the Crown Court Service's daily allowance does not cover any shortfall. Those called to serve on a Jury should be guaranteed full protection of their salary, continuity of employment and livelihood. This is particularly relevant to the millions on fixed-term or temporary employment contracts who should be guaranteed their jobs at the end of their period of service.
