Analysis of poems and some pieces should not be mandatory in the English literature subject, as it is a skill that won't be needed in life for the majority of people, but it could be a separate subject for those who enjoy it though. I think it is wasting schools money, and the time of most students they as could be learning more important skills needed in life instead.
