Petition Reduce the number of MPs by half

Britain has too many MPs for its size and in relation to other countries.
The Government should consider reducing the number of MPs considerably, at least by half and not the 10% currently being considered.

Such a reduction would slim our bloated Parliament and make MPs more accountable to their electorate as well as reducing the administrative costs of Parliament, It could easily be achieved by joining two adjacent constituencies.
