We would like the government to empower Local Authorities (LA) to extend the mortgage rescue scheme by creating LA owned Registered Social Landlords and Shared Ownership Schemes.

This would (i) provide security to those households struggling in the current financial climate enabling them to become secure tenants; (ii) increase social housing stock; and (ii) protect the most vulnerable in our society.
