Petition Stop the government overturning the peer's welfare bill changes
More details
So social tenants with one spare room would have an underoccupancy penalty? (Meaning elderly people who have been in their home in a place they like would be forced to move even when there is no alternative social housing available) And cancer patients would be means tested for ESA. (Who wants to, or is capable of dealing with officials when seriously ill?)It all seems so very distasteful and cruel. Where is our compassion? I know we need to sort out finances but lets start with those with money-not forcing folk into extreme poverty. Those with money ought to be the first port of call in the current climate.
