We believe that the riots which took place during the Summer of 2011 showed that the Police need to be given more powers in order to prevent and control violence and aggressive behaviour which threatens the safety of civilians and the police force themselves. We want the government to hold a debate in Parliament and hold a referendum in order that the public can have their say.
