Rejected petition Rescind the deal for Dow Chemicals to sponsor the 'wrap' at the Olympic Stadium

More details

I find your reason for your rejection of my e-petition on the above subject (as per your email dated 6 February 2012) highly offensive, since it demonstrates that my previous message had not even been read fully or properly. That is an affront to democracy and defeats the stated objectives of the e-petition procedure.
The reason given (yet again!) is "E-petitions cannot be used to request action on issues that are outside the responsibility of the government". That is patently untrue in this case, for the reasons previously stated, and, what is more, there is no such reason given in your terms and conditions.

Please reconsider. You will doubtless refuse. If you do, and there is subsequently a withdrawal from the Games by India or other countries, or protests, or other campaigns which require government or LOCOG intervention, you may be sure that I will release all relevant documentation to the media.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
