The public purse should not fund prisoner's Legal Aid for any matter other than proceedings for a criminal matter.
As an example: There is rapist currently serving time in a UK prison who has been granted legal aid to ask a court for him to have access to his children by way of prison visits - even though his victim is his ex-wife, the mother of his children.
This case - a case that is being processed currently - would not qualify for legal aid because it is a Family Law matter, and therefore the funding should not be permitted.
