Petition Dog Ownership Legislation
More details
The Petition
Recalling the little six year old girl that was brutally attacked by a dog in a public park in East London, in January 2012.
The dog (a Staffordshire Bull Terrier), was not on a lead, being allowed to run free in a public place, and was without a muzzle.
In order to prevent similar incidents from occuring in the future, I propose that current legislation should be ammended in order to make open spaces safer for everyone.
1. All dogs should be kept on a lead in parks & public places (particularly those with children's play areas).
2.The dangerous dog breeds list to be reconsidered and ammended to include Staffordshire Terriers, and these (and similar) breeds to be muzzled at all times in public places.
3.The introduction of compulsory electronic dog 'chipping' and owner registration.
