Rejected petition Prioritise delivery services for most vulnerable in society.
To promote a moral and just response to the coronavirus crisis, the government should instruct supermarkets to prioritise delivery services to the most vulnerable in our society during this time.
More details
It is important that people take a collective responsible response to the coronavirus crisis. Some people are unfortunately behaving in a selfish individualistic way by panic buying. The negative consequences of this behaviour will directly effect the most vulnerable in our society - pensioners, the disabled and people on low income. The government should insist that supermarkets take responsible measures to address this now.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The delivery arrangements for supermarkets are a matter for individual retailers, not the Government or Parliament. A number of retailers have announced plans to open early for elderly or vulnerable customers. You should contact your local supermarket to find out if they have put such arrangements in place.
The Government has made certain changes to enable supermarkets to work together during the coronavirus outbreak, particularly to serve customers who are elderly, ill or vulnerable: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/supermarkets-to-join-forces-to-feed-the-nation
