Rejected petition Complete lockdown for the next 2 weeks to contain COVID19

Lockdown of all non-essential services to contain viral spread for the next 2 weeks at least. These measures have been effective in other countries in terms of containment. The economy is not the priority at the moment the health of our country is.

As a front line Doctor I am incredibly concerned about the rate in which the virus is spreading and the increase in sick patients presenting late and requiring ICU care. By enforcing a complete lockdown we can halt the spread, likely to significantly degree as achieved by other countries. Measures have been taken to protect the most at risk: our elderly, immunocompromised ect. however the risk to the general ‘well’ public is understated.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
