Rejected petition Cancel payment on account for self-employed due 31st July 2020
Freelancers and self-employed have to pay 50% of their estimated future tax bill on 31st July 2020.
Cancelling this payment will provide great financial relief to the very smallest of UK businesses who are not all eligible for the measures announced to date by the Chancellor.

Like many people, freelancers and self-employed are struggling at the moment, we do not qualify for SSP or many measures the government are announcing to help business.
Cancelling the payment on account due to HMRC on 31st July 2020 would help as it will give us a financial buffer over the next few months.
This is tax we are paying in advance, by cancelling for everyone it will reduce pressure on HMRC from people ringing asking for a delay and allow the self-employed to have funds available.
