Rejected petition Repurpose industries to produce ffp2/3 masks and protective gear for NHS staff

An immidiate plan is needed to increase local production and  repurpose and re-tool local industries to increase production of needed protective gear.
Economic incentives to re-tool industries should be put in place, and requisition of production lines should be taken in consideration if necessary

More details

Shortage of Personal Protective equipment (ppe) is affecting the NHS and health care workers are already being told to work without proper PPEs

In Italy as 8,3% of  infected are health care workers.

It cannot happen in UK as well.

Our country needs to have control of the production of PPEs to avoid risks such as disruption of production or strategic reassignment of products from abroad

Clothing industries should be considered for repurpose, since they are already tooled to process fabrics
