Rejected petition Include all Self Employed in the 80% Earnings Pledge and allow them to survive.

£94.25/wk is insufficient for the wellbeing of the self-employed who prior to Covid-19, earned far more.
We request for inclusion into the pledge made to the employed-of 80% of earnings up to £2500/month.
Without this the economy, but more importantly the lives of five million people, will suffer.

More details

The labour market comprises of 15%, or approximately five million self employed people. They contributed £305 billion to the British economy prior to the Covid-19 outbreak.

A significant number of the self- employed have lost contracts and had their income reduced to zero, putting their livelihoods and ultimately, their well-being into jeopardy.

Why should an employee on £25k/ year receive the sum of £20k versus self employed’s less than £5k for the equivalent yearly earnings?

We need change.
