Rejected petition Economic assistance to self employed and freelancers during COVID-19
Rejected on
For the UK government to provide economic assistance to the self employed and freelancers - such as those within the Film, TV and other industries - who are suffering unforeseen financial challenges that could have a profound effect on thousands of people across the country.
The UK Film and TV industry is facing an unprecedented challenge as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. Most productions have halted, leaving all crew, especially self employed and freelancers, without any form of income and with the potential for months without work.
Other industries face similar challenges. I'd like the government to provide support to self employed and freelancers in all industries at this critical time.
