Rejected petition Protect Allotment plot food production during Coronavirus movement restrictions
Please keep allotment sites open and excluded from movement restrictions in the coming months so that plot holders can continue supplying their family and friends with food and look after any chickens etc.
More details
Treat allotments like they were in the war, a valuable and important resource for food production and physical and mental well being.
Continue to allow plot holders to get to their plots and tend them and any livestock they have.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The Government hasn't required the closure of allotments, so decisions about allotments remain a matter for individual local authorities, not the Government or Parliament.
Many local authorities have decided to keep allotments open because they help people exercise, but have published additional guidance about how people should behave when using their allotment. You should contact your local authority to find out what arrangements they have made in relation to allotments during the coronavirus outbreak.
