Rejected petition Universities to release students from their tenancy agreements due to COVID-19

Put pressure on universities to realise students from their tenancy agreements due to the exceptional circumstances taking place at this time.

Due to COVID-19, students have been advised/forced to leave their university accommodation early, missing a term of the accommodation in their contract. Students should not have to pay for this period as it is not possible for them to use the accommodation, and many are already struggling with money, especially due to many workplaces shutting.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
