Rejected petition The government to employ black cab drivers to safely ferry NHS staff to work.

Given the current situation with Covid 19 and the pressures on the NHS and those who are working tirelessly and selflessly to save people’s lives The Government should employ every black taxi driver to ferry these workers to and from work.

More details

Those working in the NHS are often working double or triple shifts, are coming into contact with patients who have the virus and could potentially spread the virus if and when they are using public transport. If the government were to mobilise the army of mostly redundant black taxi drivers it would give them much needed work and also provide a safe journey home at anytime night or day for the NHS workers in a contained environment without the potential for them spreading the virus.
