Rejected petition Ensure Final Year Uni students receive their deserved Degree classification
Whilst the government is acknowledging university places for 20/21, focus must be on final year students who are struggling to receive the correct information regarding assignments and dissertations. We need to make sure all students receive the degree classifications they have worked years for.
More details
Government need to be thinking about the next wave entering the work force. If students don’t receive their deserved classifications, as
a result of drop in marks due to COVID-19 and lack of available support, they will be entering a world without the correct qualifications they need to make a difference. There needs to be clarification and statements put out to reassure students their hard work is not for nothing and degree marks will be reviewed carefully in light of the current period.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
Decisions about university teaching, assessments and exams are a matter for individual universities, and decisions about university admissions are a matter for individual universities and UCAS, not the UK Government or Parliament.
If you have concerns about admissions you should raise these with UCAS, and if you have concerns about your university's arrangements for teaching and assessment you should raise these with your university or the Office for Students, which regulates the higher education sector.
We understand that the current situation is stressful for many people, including students.
