Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament

Rejected petition Abolish the Coronavirus Bill.

To stop the Coronavirus bill being passed in the House of Lords as it is unjustifiable and there is no sense for it to be passed.

More details

The Coronavirus is no longer considered to be a high consequence infectious disease in the UK as per the link for the government website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/high-consequence-infectious-diseases-hcid. If the Bill is passed, this means that you will no longer be able to socialise freely and face fines from the police and others with power to do so for two years. This is socially damaging and will impact the economy significantly with long term ramifications that we can't comprehend.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Since you started your petition, Parliament has passed the Coronavirus Bill, which is now law as the Coronavirus Act 2020.

You could start a petition calling for the Government to repeal the Coronvirus Act 2020, if that's what you want to happen.
