Carers both NHS and private sector are all front line during the crisis and are working hard to ensure everyones safety. We are all putting in long, draining hours, at the lowest pay rate, and arent recognised as skilled workers. We all complete NVQ or CQC qualifications to do our jobs, yet we aren't recognised for this.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Government does not designate particular occupations as skilled or unskilled, except in certain limited areas such as whether an occupation is included on the Shortage Occupation List.

The Government is also not responsible for the pay of all care workers, many of whom are employed privately.
