Rejected petition NHS staff should receive formal recognition and awards for COVID-19 service.
In recognition of their service and contributions during the covid-19 pandemic, frontline NHS staff should receive a comemorative medal and one week extra leave in 2021. This is similar to the concept of bonuses and medals that military service peronell receive following operational deployments.

Men and women are risking their lives daily providing life saving care during a rare and extremely dangerous pandemic. This should be formally recognised by the giverment of the day. Those who served should be provided with extra time with lobed ones and should be able to proudly demonstrate that they have served the people of their country in a timw of great need.
