Petition Fight for the welfare of animals during slaughter
More details
The Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations 1995, Humane treatment of animals:
4.—(1) No person engaged in the movement, lairaging, restraint, stunning, slaughter or killing of animals shall—
(a)cause any avoidable excitement, pain or suffering to any animal; or
(b)permit any animal to sustain any avoidable excitement, pain or suffering.
There is clear proof that the law is not being followed. The purpose of this petition is to show the Government that society care about the treatment of animals regardless of whether they eat meat or not. CCTV should be properly installed and monitored within slaughter houses to ensure the correct and humane treatment of animals. To also review current legislation and impose stronger punishment to those who go against the law.
