Petition access to gp apoinment systems for deaf hearing impaired people
More details
The 64000$ question is "how do deaf and hearing impaired people, especially elderly people who live alone, make a simple gp appointment when the only method of acessing the service is by telephone.
99.926% of all gp practices in Eng Wales are failing to comply with Section 3 of the Equality Act:provision of goods and services/provision of alternative methods of accessing the service.
The Equality Act clearly enshines in law the principle that " where an individual by virtue of his /her disability is unable to access the existing system, then the provider of that service must provide alternative methods of accessing the service"
What i want the government to do is to force all gp practices to comply with the Equality Act and give deaf/hearing impaired people alternative methods of accessing their gp appointment service..
