Rejected petition COVID-19 'Small Business grants' for serviced office users registered with HMRC
small businesses with overheads to pay whilst unable to fully operate during this crisis, are excluded from the small business grants fund (SBGF) solely due to business rates being incorporated within service contracts. While some may be temporary users we must protect those with long term agreements
More details
Contractual offices solely for the purpose of their business, majority first year sole trader. Some investing all of their savings, find themselves not qualifying for schemes which will help cover their overheads.
These businesses range from online retailers to service providers. Pressure increasing from landlords for rent, they need help, and they need it fast! We propose those with 'long term' leases qualify in the same way as those businesses who pay their business rates directly!
