Petition Introduce a Cycling "Certificate of Training and Safety Awareness" before allowed use of A/B Roads

More details

Qualified “Licensed” road users (drivers of lorries, buses, coaches, vans, cars and motorbikes) call on Government Ministers to introduce a Certificate of Training and “Safety Awareness” (A License) that all cyclist “must pass before” they are allowed to ride their bikes on main A and B Roads in the UK.
This will allow for cyclist to use other roads and enjoy cycling but keep them off the dangerous routes until an understanding of the dangers are in place.

This petition is for the “safety of cyclist”

At any age a person can buy or hire a bike, then take it onto A or B roads with no understanding of the many dangers they may encounter on our roads network. The dangers to cyclist is different to any other road user around the manoeuvring of Lorries and Buses.

A cyclist who uses A or B roads should like all other road users be licensed to do so and pass a test to be qualified (a Certificate) as proof.
