Rejected petition Extend the 28th February Job Retention Scheme deadline for new hires

Currently the scheme only covers employees who were on their company’s payroll on or before 28th February 2020. Extend this date to the middle of March 2020 when the Covid-19 restrictions were put in place in the U.K. and most companies stopped hiring.

More details

This deadline decision will impact many workers who have recently changed company/job after 28th February and who may be left with nothing should their company make them redundant as a consequence of their inability to access the Job Retention Scheme for these new employees
