Rejected petition Guarantee treatment for people with cancer during Covid19 epidemic crisis.
Parliament to legislate to ensure the NHS protects treatment for patients with cancer, and prioritises people with a diagnosis of advanced cancer and in receipt of treatment.
This protection ensures the NHS continues to fulfil its obligation to UK citizens, paid for by citizens.
More details
The NHS was founded to provide access to medical treatment and care at the point of need. British citizens have come to depend on the NHS to meet this commitment enshrined in law. Amongst the most vulnerable and dependent are those who have cancer and are widely regarded as a priority group for treatment. I want Parliament to ensure this commitment remains in all circumstances , including a time of crisis in demand for NHS resources.
