Rejected petition Help Workers employed prior to 28th Feb 2020 to be furlough by the new employer.
I was employed from 2018 on 35k. I received a 40k job offer in March. New employer can not furlough me, my old employer won't rehire me.
Thousands which were employed, had a good job before 28th Feb. We don't want UniversalCredit

More details
The recent announcement as a result of the pandemic has a major oversight in new workers joining the payroll.
Workers who started work after the 28th February are not entitled to this funding meaning that new place of work is not eligible to claim the 80% relief of their salary.
This puts thousands of workers at risk and stuck in the place of having no income and little to no prospect.
Punishing those for bettering themselves by furthering their career and starting a new job is not fair.
