Rejected petition Give permanent residence to all migrants supporting the NHS through COVID-19.

Give permanent residence to all migrants who have risked their lives supporting the NHS in its hour of need during the COVID-19 crisis, either as employees or contractors.

More details

The NHS relies on migrants to function under normal conditions. Now, with COVID-19 stretching its resources to the maximum and risking the lives of all keeping it afloat, we owe more than ever to these people.

We have given them a one year visa extension but that is more for our benefit than theirs. They currently have to pay to use the very service they are saving. It is right to give them permanent residence and the ability to rely on the NHS as it relies on them. They deserve it and more.
