Closed Reduce rate of VAT for UK's tourism industry

We are calling for a reduced rate of VAT for visitor accommodation and attractions to bring UK tourism in line with our European counterparts.
The current rate of 20% is one of the highest in Europe and counterproductive.
A reduction in VAT to 5% for tourism-related businesses would help create 20,000 new jobs nationally, increase the amount of money in the Government's coffers - through the generation of additional income - and see a reduction of benefit payments to those seeking employment.
