Abolish the coarse fishing close season entirely.

At present, some waters are subject to a close season whilst others are not.

If a close season is not required to protect fish in a small privately-owned land-locked fishery, why is one necessary on large river systems? Surely the intensity of fishing in the former is much greater than in the latter?

In order to protect the financial interests of the owners of private, non-close season waters, it makes sense to abolish the close season altogether, rather than impose one on everyone.
