This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Local councils have obligations to investigate complaints about noise that could be a statutory nuisance, and powers to serve abatement notices. Information on how councils deal with complaints about noise nuisances is avaialble here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/noise-nuisances-how-councils-deal-with-complaints

The way in which individual councils do this, including requiring residents to keep a log, is a matter for individual local authorities, and not the Government or House of Commons.

If you are not happy with how your local council has handled a complaint about noise, you might be able to take this up with the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman: https://www.lgo.org.uk/make-a-complaint/fact-sheets/housing/neighbour-nuisance-and-anti-social-behaviour

Other anti-social behaviors are more likely to be a matter for the police, and it is up to the police how they investigate reports of anti-social behavior, not the Government or House of Commons.
