Rejected petition Stop the 10,000 working from home allowance that the MPs are asking for!

Do not pay the additional money mps are asking for

More details

130,000 members of parliaments are trying to claim a 10,000 working from home allowance amongst this global pandemic.

Whilst the majority of workers are working from home with no payment, the economy is struggling, money is being spent at an outstanding rate, the NHS is short on Ppe and ventilations and hundreds of thousands of people are dying yet the mps want a £10,000 allowance when they are already saving money from commuting.

This money could be invested elsewhere in these times.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.

You can find out more about IPSA here: https://www.theipsa.org.uk/about-us/

Donating money would be a decision for individual MPs, not the UK Government or Parliament.
