Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament

Rejected petition Include newly self employed ( 2019 -20 ) in grant for self employed people.

Those individuals who started their work under self employed category from April 2019 are not included in government's current grant scheme. This is unfair to thousands of people in the country. They have lost their all earnings due to Covid 19 and are as much effected and broke as others.

More details

Government should be helping those extra people by bringing them in the category of self employed by asking chancellor to announce the support for newly self employed people 2019-20 too. Chancellor can simply advise the newly self employed people to submit their tax returns in advance. This will help HMRC to check the authenticatiy as well as people get same help as others.
