Rejected petition Hold a public inquiry into lack of personal protective equipment for NHS staff

The lack of personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS staff has become dire despite multiple reassurances from the Government that the situation was in hand. The Doctors’ Association UK is calling for a commitment to a full public inquiry into the lack of PPE once the COVID-19 pandemic is over.

More details

The NHS is suffering from a severe shortage of personal protective equipment. The Doctors’ Association UK has been collecting data on this for weeks and lobbying for improved PPE through our Protect the Frontline campaign. Despite multiple reassurances from the government the PPE shortages are now life-threatening. This weekend we may run out of gowns. This is unforgivable. Doctors are dying. Nurses are dying. We now need a commitment for a full public inquiry into the lack of PPE.
