This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament
Rejected petition Reduce the minimum term of a Lifetime ISA from 12 months to 3 months.
The ongoing impact of Coronavirus is affecting the housing market and savers significantly.
The LISA 12 months minimum before you can use it to buy a home means savers will see their money locked up for longer and unable to buy a home soon.
More details
I want the government to (perhaps only for the next 12 months) allow LISA to be used to buy a new home within 3 months of setting up a LISA rather than 12 months.
