Rejected petition COVID-19: Post-Study work visa changes to be extended to current students
Extend the 2-year post-study work visa for international students to include 2019-2020 intake because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has tremendously effected the efforts for international students to secure jobs in the UK as most companies in the UK have now suspended or cancelled hiring.
More details
A recent example of what a government can do to support its current students is that of Canada. They have introduced a number of supportive measures to assist students through this difficult time. We are not asking the UK government to do the same but rather amend the proposals that are already underway to reduce the pressure that some graduates may now be facing. Our chances of securing a job have greatly decreased as a result of COVID-19 and feel that these changes would allow us to do so.
