Rejected petition Abolish the registration fee for nurses with immediate effect
Abolish the annual registration fee nurses have to pay to do their job with immediate effect & repay the fees already paid for this year.
More details
In this unprecedented time where our nursing staff are going to work in the frontline of this dreadful pandemic, caring for critically ill patients with high potential of contracting the virus themselves and then paying a registration fee for the privilege. This should be abolished immediately, any fee already paid for this year should be refunded & no fee be required to be paid ever again.
Nurses can register without paying to do so.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The level of registrations fees are a matter for independent regulators such as the General Medical Council and Nursing and Midwifery Council, and not the Government or Parliament.
We have published a petition calling on the Government to reimburse health care professionals for professional registration fees, which you might like to sign: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/307399
You could start a new petition calling on the Government to fund health regulators directly, so they do not need to charge a registration fee.
