Petition Pressure Chinese & Korean governments to end slaughter of cats & dogs for meat

We respectfully request that the UK Government use its political strength and global reach to put pressure on China & Korea to completely eradicate the torture & slaughter of cats & dogs for human consumption. This could be done by imposing trade sanctions on their respective countries.

More details

This is animal abuse on a massive scale, and a stain on their
international reputations. It is estimated millions of dogs & cats are slaughtered each year for their meat. Many are stolen pets or strays who are typically beaten to death, skinned, boiled or burnt alive. There can be no excuse for the intolerable suffering and cruelty these animals are facing as a result of this trade. Let’s make the UK the worldwide leader in getting this dreadful & inhumane slaughter ended NOW.

MPs to debate efforts to end the global dog and cat meat trade

MPs will debate efforts to end the global dog and cat meat trade on Wednesday 14 July in Westminster Hall, a debating chamber in the House of Commons.

This will be a general debate. General debates allow MPs to debate important issues, however they do not end in a vote nor can they change the law.

The debate will start at around 11.00am and last for up to half an hour. Watch it here this Wednesday: https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/1a436ca7-f2f0-4b50-afce-3a5e3fed5335
