Rejected petition Completely end COVID-19 lockdown right now! The cure is killing the patient...
Lockdown was introduced on the evening of Monday March 23rd with full and immediate effect. It should be comprehensively ended as soon as possible, also with immediate effect.
More details
There is no doubt that coronavirus disease is killing people, but, as at the beginning of May, there is no evidence that it is significantly worse than a severe outbreak of seasonal flu - see the government's own data for 2014-2015, for example.
However, lockdown, was introduced on the basis of conjectural data which had been used to predict a far worse outcome (500,000 deaths).
The economic, social and psychological consequences of lockdown have already been devastating. End it now!
