Rejected petition Ban loot-box-style transactions from EA (Electronic Arts) in the UK
Prevent EA from charging customers for ingame loot-box-style transactions.
There is a precedent in Belgium, where the Belgian authorities, have decided that EA should stop offering FIFA Points for sale.
It is imoral and young people, could become addicted to these randomized rewards.
More details
EA earns at least $1 Billion in microtransactions every year, untaxed money.
A loot box is a virtual item that can be redeemed to obtain a random selection of other virtual items. These include weapons, armor or customization of avatars.Players buy or gain the boxes during play, and then can buy keys to redeem them. The box contents are unknown at the time of purchase.
They can change the game style,in order for customers to play for rewards, instead of offering the opportunity to spend real money.
